Tap2Cal

API and MCP server

Create add-to-calendar links from your own code or let an AI assistant do it. Each event gets a page where guests save it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or any other calendar.

Get an API key

Create a free account, then open your account and create a key under “API and AI assistants”. The key is only shown once. Events you create with it appear under My events.

Connect an AI assistant

The MCP server is at https://tap2cal.com/mcp and uses Streamable HTTP. Send your key in the Authorization header. In Claude Code, for example:

claude mcp add --transport http tap2cal https://tap2cal.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"

Other clients usually take a configuration like this:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "tap2cal": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://tap2cal.com/mcp",
      "headers": {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"}
    }
  }
}

Assistants that only support a login through OAuth can’t connect yet. Available tools:

Use the REST API

curl https://tap2cal.com/api/v1/events \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "name": "Summer party",
    "startDate": "2027-07-05",
    "startTime": "18:00",
    "endTime": "22:00",
    "timeZone": "Europe/Vienna",
    "location": "Central Park"
  }'

The response contains the event with its link in event.url. See the OpenAPI description for all fields.
